Sarasota Varsity v Manatee, 6-4
Sarasota defeated Manatee 6-4 on Monday after taking the lead late in the game. Sarasota was down 4-3 in the bottom of the sixth inning when Bradley Ramsden singled on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs.
Manatee got things started in the first inning. Devin Calderon grounded out, scoring one run.
Ryan Swartz was credited with the victory for Sarasota. The righty allowed one hit and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out five and walking zero.
Jayse Berzowski took the loss for Manatee. The pitcher surrendered one run on two hits over two-thirds of an inning, striking out two and walking zero.
Blake Balais started the game for Manatee. Balais lasted five and a third innings, allowing three hits and five runs while striking out four. Jaxson Crump started the game for Sarasota allowing six hits and four runs over four and a third innings, striking out four and walking one.
Carter Hilton led Sarasota with two hits in four at bats.
Manatee racked up seven hits on the day. Tommy Zinna and Trevor Viera all had multiple hits for Manatee.
